Coverage:

-New lawn / bare soil: 1,700–2,500 sq ft

-Overseeding existing Bermuda: 2,500–5,000 sq ft

Use rates at the higher end of each range for challenging sites (poor soil, slopes, hotter exposures) or when you want faster fill‑in and maximum density.

Palmia: Palmilla’ Elite Bermudagrass is a premium seeded bermuda selected for fine leaf texture, dark green color, and top‑tier performance in warm and transition zones. Its coated seed delivers quick germination, strong early rooting, and thick coverage that stands up to traffic, heat, and stress when properly maintained.

Basic Planting & Establishment Guidelines

Timing: Seed when soil temperatures are consistently warm (> 65 degrees F) and within the recommended Bermuda seeding window for your region.

Sunlight: Bermudagrass requires full sun and does not perform well in moderate to heavy shade.

Soil Prep: Remove debris, smooth the surface, and create a firm, level seedbed. Aim for excellent seed‑to‑soil contact without burying seed too deeply.

Watering: Keep the top layer of soil consistently moist with light, frequent irrigation until germination and early establishment. Transition to deeper, less frequent watering as the turf matures.

Mowing: Begin mowing when seedlings reach the recommended cutting height and can tolerate being cut. Palmilla can be maintained at lower mowing heights with the right equipment and schedule.

 

Who Palmilla Is Right For

Palmilla is a strong fit if you want:

·       A fine‑textured, dark green Bermuda that can be mowed low and striped.

·       Seeded Bermuda genetics that rival high‑end sports turf.

·       A lawn or field that can handle traffic, heat, and regular use when maintained correctly.

Palmilla is not ideal if you:

·       Need a grass for medium to heavy shade areas.

·       Prefer a grass that stays green through winter in cooler climates (Bermuda goes    dormant and tan/brown in cold).

·       Are unsure about committing to Bermuda long‑term due to its aggressive spread.
